You say you're not leaving but you're leaving me, every color in me changes black to green. You need warmer weather and your native trees and I'm in love with feeling like I'm out to sea. Funny how you're headed south when I feel like I just got out. But you were always someone who was leaving town and I am just a peasant with a poet's mouth. So it's my turn to be the bridge that burns, baby nothing stays the same. And it's your turn to be the one that burns it, baby you're not mine to claim. Southern states are not the same. But southern states take all the blame. I'm still washing my hands of that sugar cane but you, you think the west is yours to claim.

Finish Line 03:06
I have spent my whole short life learning how to be a good wife til I figured out one day I just wasn't made that way. So gimme all your good champagne, tell me all your high school pain. We don't have to call it yet. Not yet. I'll tell you when, I'll be the one, I'll move my own finish line. The cities that you settled for, the restless nights you knew you wanted more, we know we're not finished yet. There is no minor chord, I'm doin what I came for and what I came for isn't finished yet. (Not yet)

Wife 03:59
Oh I wish I was born a man so I can do the things I can. I wanna make my mark on the world, I wanna say the things I'm thinking. Oh I wish I could understand the way it feels to have my words heard without the fear of being too loud, without constant interruption. I wanna dance without you thinking about my body in bed, I wanna smile without you thinking about your hand on my head. Oh this was not my plan, show me how we can start over. Oh I wish I could do what I do best without the thought of how my clothes fit. I wanna take you with me at night, I want you to see what I see. I wanna dance without you thinking about my body in bed, I wanna smile without you thinking about your hand on my head. Oh this was not my plan, show me how we can start over. I want you to be my wife, I want you to bear my children. I want you to make me babies, babies that look just like me. And you too, and you too.

I Doubt It 03:07
You say you got what I need, something that I want. But I doubt it. You say together is the key, the answer's you and me. But I doubt it. They say don't stay alone too long, you'll wind up being wrong. But I doubt it. They say you gotta give it up, you'll never be enough. But I doubt it. I don't believe what I don't see. I don't believe what I don't feel. They say it's gotta be this way, you gotta make em stay. But I doubt it.
